Evelyn's one year pictures

Here is a sample of Evelyn's one year pictures. Props to our photographer since Evelyn cried almost the entire time.

Evelyn is one!

I can hardly believe my baby is one year old! It was a tough year in many ways. At the same time it is very hard to believe that a year has passed since Evelyn Joy was born. We are so thankful that she is a part of our family. She is such a balance of sweet and sassy for sure! A few facts about our baby: her favorite foods are black beans and blackberries. Her favorite song is 'If you're happy and you know it.' She can say mama, dada, Andrew (Adoo), two, and three. She has never crawled but is so very close to walking. In fact we know she can but is just too cautious :) At her one year check-up she weighed 24 lbs 4 oz which is the 94%. She is 30.5 inches tall which is 88%. Dr Addy says she is the average size of a 21 month old. Way to go Evelyn! She had a great birthday (back on Feb 9). Here are a few pictures.

January's end

I'm not kidding. This is how her hair looked when she woke up in the morning. Serious fuzzhead!

I took the girls out in the snow.  It started out well for Evelyn but slowly went downhill.

Evelyn became happier when she helped herself to a giant cookie.  Who wouldn't?

Christmas part II

Christmas part 2:

Ok, so maybe I should have posted this in 'part 1.'  These are the kids playing in the first snow of the season.  They had so much fun!

More fun in the snow

New Year's Eve with the kids.  We watched a few countdowns thanks to Netflix.  And we watched the ball drop from last year thanks to Youtube.  We had sparkling grape juice (aka 'kid wine') and the kids were in bed by eight.  I think Ryan and I were in bed by nine.  Oh the joys of having young kids!

Christmas part I

It's been a long time since I made a new post.  So long in fact that I must divide it into two posts but they both include lots of Christmas pictures :)  We had a great Christmas.  It's the only time of year that the whole Huizinga side gets together.  No one got sick, we had snow to go sledding, and the kids got along so great!
Sledding is fun with or without a sled

These next few pictures are courtesy of my brother Matthew.  Evelyn is almost 11 months here.
