I don't know what happened in today's news to rile Andrew up, but I sure loved hearing him rant about it!

Andrew's Tricks
Here's some video of Andrew's latest tricks, including "talking". Andrew can say "All done" on command, but doesn't yet know what it means.

Walking!!!
Andrew took his (very cautious) first steps today! Both parents are so proud!! It took him a little more than two minutes to get from where he started all the way to mom, so I trimmed it down to 30 seconds.
Since taking this video, he has gotten so proud of himself and is willing to go faster (all this in the last half hour that he learned to walk). He loves looking down at his feet and he gets a big smile on his face when he gets to his destination. But you are watching video of his very first steps where he's a bit more cautious and still trying to figure it out all the tricks, like staying up and getting somewhere. We'll throw chewing gum in next week. ;)
Enjoy!!!

Giggles!
It's always funny to see what makes a baby laugh. In the first video, mommy took a mirror and reflected the sunlight onto the ceiling. In the second, she spun some nail clippers. We could have shown you at least 5 straight minutes of giggling, but I'm sure you'll smile along with a minute of giggles.

Thumb sucking and talking
By now, many of you know Andrew sucks his thumb as a soothing technique. What's odd is that he has extended this to eating solid foods. For some reason, we cannot get even one spoonful into his mouth without him putting his thumb in immediately after!
And this next part absolutely melts our hearts. Andrew has started "talking" to us. He responds to squawks and squeaks and anything that's part of his vocabulary. We absolutely love listening to what he has to say!

More Giggles
If you catch him just right, our serious little boy can actually give more than one giggle on camera.

More Firsts
It was another day of firsts for Andrew. First, the most precious part: our beloved little boy learned to giggle. And not just a little bit -- he giggled for the most part of five minutes!! Of course, when you get the video camera out, he suddenly stops...sorry! We were only able to get one giggle on camera. Maybe he's getting camera shy!
After swing time and giggling, Andrew worked up an appetite where we tried to feed him his first cereal. He gave it a good try, but he let us know in his own way that his thumb was plenty fine for now.

Andrew's Baptism
Andrew Jon was baptized on July 18!! Praise be to God!!
As anxious parents, we were wondering how Andrew would do during baptism. Lately, he's been pretty fussy during the day and we were praying he'd behave for just long enough! Andrew started out so well, but with each passing praise song at the beginning of the service, we knew we were on borrowed time!! But Andrew did just fine. I won't show the whole video, but he was just plain enamored with the pastor -- he couldn't take his eyes off her! The whole congregation laughed! He would have made it the whole time without crying, but some holy water made it into his eyes -- I can't really blame him for crying!!

Smiling, cooing, and kicking
Andrew has become a lot more interactive over the past month. He's able to respond to people when they talk to him by smiling, cooing, and kicking. Enjoy!
