end of summer

It's hard to believe that the summer is almost over. I suppose it sneaks up on me every year. We pack in so much fun & have so many visitors that it just flies by. Here are a few pictures of our summer before it comes to a close:

Sylvia climbing into the pool fully clothed.
Sylvia enjoys this tricycle more than Andrew even though I really bought it for him
Andrew does enjoy this motorized car, though.  He was too afraid to ride it last year but had a blast this year
Enjoying Uncle Robb and Aunt Traci's little beach

Trenten taking us on a little tour of their lake with the paddle boat
This is where Andrew spent most of his time, on the trampoline :)

playing with worms

While gardening/weed-pulling the other day, I came across a rather large worm. I thought Andrew might want to take a look at the thing, maybe even touch it. Boy, did he ever! He played with that worm for quite a while. He put it in the grass, on his pants, arm, shoe & ended by giving it a hug before putting it back in the dirt. Love that boy!

more fun with the cousins

Today was a sad day...the Texas cousins are heading back home :( Both my kids and I had so much fun with them. Having family live far away stinks! This morning, when Andrew came in my room to give me some snugs, the first thing out of his mouth was, "Mama, I love Dayana." So sweet. Anyway, here are some pictures of a few more activities we did together.

Watching airplanes land & take off at the GRR airport lookout.
Walking a well worn path while waiting for planes
Love
Andrew bowling for the first time.  He had fun the first few times, but after that he lost interest.  Oh well...
Dada showing him how to roll the bowling ball.  His first roll took about five minutes to go down the lane :)

15 month appointment

So, this 'little' sweetie is growing like a weed. Sylvie had her 15 month appointment today and we found that she weighs 28 lbs which puts her at the 99%, and she is 33 & 3/4 inches tall which puts her off the chart for height. Dr Addy says she is the size of an average 2 year old. Goodness! And I love every bit of her :) At this point she walks about half of the time, though I think she still prefers walking with help or crawling. At least she's making progress. She can also say a few words: go, two, three, & mama. There are times we think she is saying other words but it really is just a guessing game at this point.

cousin love

My sister, Sara, is here from Texas visiting with her family. We always have a blast while she is here. My son absolutely adores her children. Here is an example of what we've been up to:

Going to John Ball Zoo
Petting the goats
Playing in a play house at the zoo

Feeding the birds
Our next stop was visiting the Lowell County Fair.  Andrew LOVED petting the bunnies!

Laughing on the bleachers (and watching a milking competition)

Enjoying an after dinner treat :)

fun on the trampoline

Watching this girl try to jump on the trampoline is hilarious! Luckily she's having a good time too :)

more outdoor fun

Playing in the backyard has been a popular activity lately. Sylvia started walking, but then reverted back to crawling and climbing. That stubborn girl ;)

Here she is attempting to climb the swing-set ladder

Playing in the water...again
After I water my hanging basket, Andrew likes to pretend to take a shower with the water that overflows
If he doesn't get wet enough from his 'shower,' he just goes straight for the hose
pure sweetness!
