Easter weekend 2014

We had a packed weekend, full of fun! And the nice weather only added to the enjoyment.

Thursday afternoon and evening we headed over to Grandpa and Grandma Huizinga's house for an Easter egg hunt.  Such a fun surprise for the kids.

After dinner we went to my parents neighbors house to see the chickens and goats.
Friday we went to the library.  Andrew had great fun with the water colors.
Sylvia loved the butterfly wings.
Then we headed outside to walk by Reeds Lake
When we were walking back to our car Andrew spotted a Nissan Z car.  Although he has one in the matchbox form, this was the first one he saw in 'real life.'
Just a pretty picture of my sweetie :)
Saturday morning we went to an Easter egg hunt at a local church
Once we got home, the kids and Ryan started making their own Easter eggs
The finished product
Easter morning!  The kids each got a chocolate bunny and a few dollar store gifts.  The best part for them was getting to eat a few bites of chocolate before breakfast!

Getting ready for church.  Aren't they so cute?!

After church we all enjoyed a big lunch and then another big dinner at the VanderKamp house.  The kids were spoiled once again with yet another Easter egg hunt.  The kids had a blast!

heading outdoors

The weather is mild, the sun is out...let's go outside and play!

Andrew showing off his tough man skills
Sylvia trying to show off her tough woman skills
Playing at a local playground
"Look at me, Mama!"
She wants to do everything that Andrew can do
Is there room for four?
On Saturday we headed over to Critter Barn, and place in Zeeland where kids can see and touch farm animals.  Andrew loved holding a baby duckling
Sylvia's favorite was the cat room.  Can you see her excitement?

Andrew wasn't so sure about holding a baby chick
The bunny rabbits they had there were massive!
Yet another example:
Feeding the sheep
Checking out the chickens and roosters
Back at home, it was time to play in the dirt!

April!

April brought warmer weather and also a birthday. Andrew turned four on April 7. I have a four year old?!

Andrew got to pick what he wanted for a birthday treat to his school.  He chose green and red jello in the shape of hearts :)
Sylvia loved that her dress filled out when she stood over the heat :)
Andrew came home from school with a birthday crown, and it was even decorated with Disney Cars stickers!
Sibling love
Sylvia gave me this pose when I wanted to take her picture in her new pretty dress from Grandma Huizinga
My happy 4 year old

And we finished with a Hot Wheels cake
