Happy Easter to all our blog readers out there! This was Andrew's first Easter so that made the holiday extra fun and special. We had lunch with his Huizinga Grandparents, and then went on to celebrate with the VanderKamp side for dinner.
Andrew is checking out his age-appropriate Easter basket
I thought he would look super cute in these bunny ears but he hated them! Getting a good picture was rather difficult seeing as he refused to make his Mom happy and cooperate :)
Andrew also took his first 'big boy bath' this weekend. I have been putting off putting him in the tub because I just love the convenience of sitting him in the sink while I get a few things done. But alas, he has out grown the sink so the bath tub it is! He loved it! And I will say it was nice to have his splashing contained a bit. There was a lot less water to clean up :)
We also went outside for a while since the weather was halfway decent. It has been a cold and rainy spring here in Michigan. As you can see in these pictures he loves being thrown in the air by his Daddy and cruising along the fence.

trouble!
Andrew still is not walking but he sure does love to 'cruise.' As a result he is getting into more and more things. Trouble is starting to brew ;)
I love how Andrew sticks out his tongue when he is really concentrating on something, whether it's playing with toys or cruising around the furniture.
Pulling all the books off the shelves
Walking along the outside of his highchair rather than sitting in it
Playing in the cupboards, his favorite activity at the moment

birthday parties!
Our Andrew is more than just a little spoiled. He had THREE birthday parties! These are just a few of our favorite pictures that we gathered.
This is the first time he had eaten cake or seen a candle. The look on his face says it all
He had no problem diving right in!
I think he sucked on those fingers for a good 10 minutes or so. Frosting is good!
The aftermath:
A gift? What is that?
Would you put away the camera already?
A family shot
Becoming a pro at eating cake :)

Andrew is 1!
Today is Andrew's first birthday. How blessed we are! Ryan and I were reminiscing about what we were doing one year ago and read through some of the journals I have kept of our dear Andrew. What fun we had remembering his birth and first year with us. He has so many cute quirks and we just wonder what kind of personality he will develop. We look forward to much more fun in the years ahead. We have a few parties planned, the first one being tonight of course. So we will post more pics later, hopefully one of him diving right in to his cake :)
